What customers say?

“ The BEST vegan options. I loved my jerky bowl and my boyfriend got the kung fu burrito. The quantity was perfect and it tastes delicious, the server was very nice too. Cute inside and good price ”

“ Great tasting burritos. We got one in a bowl and the other was a wrap. I think the ratio in the wrap could have had a touch more salsa. The water cups were also fairly small. Overall this small Mexican restaurant is worth visiting. Nice small patio to sit on when the weather is nice too. ”

“ As a big fan of Mexican food and a good deal this is the place to come. I just had tacos and a “chihuahua” they have a 3 for 12 deal on the tacos! Their hot sauce is super yummy too! I’ve had the burrito before and been so impressed. If you are in North Van stop in and I hope you get Beccy as your server! ”

“ Good was so good And service also was amazing We ordered Daily specials - twoonie Tuesday Taco trio mix (Austin,CBC, Wilbur) BOWLS Austin and ale beer, lager beer ,spicy Margarita spicy margarita wasn’t good for us however, Everything was awesome interior is so cute and authentic I love it Staff was so kind we said that couldn’t eat cheese she took care of us. I will come again :) ”

“ Solid food and service. It wasn't the most exciting Mexican food I've had but it works and the portions are filling. I wish there was a bit more variety in the protein options and fillings but I will say they do have something for everyone including vegans which is appreciated. The hot sauces are spicy. This particular location was bright and easy to access from Lonsdale Quay. We had a nice time and will be interested to come back for cocktails in the evening as we went for lunch and I think it likely has a different vibe at night. ”

“ Lower Lonsdale is fortunate to have so many great restaurants and such variety but hard to find great food at affordable prices. Gringos has super friendly staff, the beverage price is great, especially during happy hour, and the tacos are super delicious for a snack or lighter supper. Food is "healthier" than the fast food options and the cost is still low enough to be able to go out for an enjoyable meal. New to Gringos is their loyalty plan with generous start up bonus, double points on Mon. and Tues. and best of all is no card needed as it stores under your phone number. Highly recommended. ”

“ Fun spot on Lonsdale where the Menchie’s used to be. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Took our order, thoroughly checked for allergies we had, gave good recommendations, and were not pushy on drinks (we were with a non drinking group). Food was good. The burritos and tacos were fine - tightly wrapped burritos and well grilled/ toasted. Really good and not overly messy. We have been here a couple of times, so I’d personally rate the meat Austin/ Angus > Encino/ Chicken > Wilbur/ Pork. The green sauce is yummy, the red sauce is very spicy. . Food wise, they don’t serve and complementary chips or anything. So, for the experience it feels like you are at a dine in restaurant, but the food portions are very basic. Food Presentation and quality are a step above Chipotle, but Chipotle has them on selection of condiments and volume. 80s retro vibes and play list was super fun. I could see this place being a fun late night eat place with a small group. ”

“ Could not recommend this place enough! Came here for my Birthday in the middle of a very busy exam season and have no regrets. The food was delicious, and very fairly priced. We were stuffed by the end of our meal. We tried the tacos, burrito, nachos, chips and queso, and margaritas. The pineapple salsa was also really tasty! The staff and service were outstanding. We were greeted by I'm assuming the owner(?) Super great guy. Extremely friendly and energetic. Having previously worked as a server, it’s refreshing to see a place where the staff doesn’t essentially follow the same corporate script and dull greetings. The energy in this place is lovely. 10/10 food, drinks, prices, service and decor. This is a small restaurant, and despite just opening a few days ago, very busy. You may have to wait to be seated. The wait is totally worth it. Check it out! ”
